4 Tips in Staying Healthy And Fit in Japan even With a Toddler

We know that mommies have it tough. On one hand, they have the baby to make sure they are taken care of by enough sleep, food, exercise, health and a good amount of bonding with them. And on one hand, is to keep things in order at home and, lastly, a time for yourself. And getting back in shape after pregnancy is a difficult challenge for moms with all the busy schedules on top of it. And there’s also the struggle of lacking energy, and little free-time. Is it even possible to feel healthy again?

Tips in Staying Healthy and Fit even with a Toddler

So how to have a balanced, healthy life while taking care of a toddler? The answer is time management and planning. There’s always a way only if we are determined to do so, right?

Here are four tips to getting back in shape, feel healthy once again while taking care of the little one.

1. Walking out with the little one

You’re hitting two birds into one stone when you make a routine of walking out with your baby. It’s a great morning or afternoon exercise with you and your toddler as you stroll around in your town to breathe air, and get your hearts pumping. Not only is it healthy for the both of you but you’ll also get to explore nearby stores, and cafes you can easily visit. Surely it will get you sweating and losing a few pounds. And your baby would enjoy the stroll as you both explore and see outside. Plus, it will make you feel energized.

2. Join a fitness class/ Or get a gym membership

It only takes a few hours in a week to get back in shape. And if it is possible, leave your baby with a family member or get a babysitter at home so you can attend a weekly fitness class or hit the gym. You might have tried doing home exercises but to no avail due to distractions. So it’s better to give yourself this needed “me-time” outside at home. There are tons of fitness classes to choose from; dance classes, pilates, yoga or any fitness programs will do. Or if you are a fitness junkie even before pregnancy, I’m sure you know your way to be fit like your ‘old self’.

3. Self-Care at Night

After a long day of taking care of the baby and tucking the little one to sleep, you might need a little de-stressing. True enough, often moms crave an alone time before going to bed. Do this by reading your favorite book, doing some yoga poses, watch your favorite drama or get a nice bubble bath. A simple self-care for yourself goes a long way to still feeling good about yourself and feeling loved. A tiring day does not need to end exhausting and sometimes, even frustrating. After all, we can always choose to change it to make a wonderful day as we end the night.

4. Prep Snacks

To keep yourself from grabbing chips or ordering something online that is unhealthy, it’s better to prepare your healthy meals at night for the week while your partner can give you a hand with your toddler. Place it on a plastic container and add fruits, biscuits and vegetables like sweet potatoes, cucumbers, grapes, apples etc. This will greatly help you out and save time and whenever you feel tired preparing for the day or you are too busy for your toddler.

Conclusion

Momma, you can do it! Don’t be too hard on yourself and take it easy. Planning and scheduling everything will get you in balance and one day you’ll look back how things were not as hard as you think. Rather, it just needs a little organizing. And also, appreciate and stay positive as your little one is still “little”. For often, mothers miss the times when their babies are still small. And lastly, stop and find joy in the little things in life and in the present moments.
